Our 'big jar' Christmas collection raised money to help support the work of the Tiyanjane Clinic in Malawi. Tiyanjane Clinic was developed by Dr Jane Bates (Iris Nerurker's daughter) who trained as a General Practitioner in the UK and worked in South Africa in a district hospital. That environment encouraged her interest in HIV/AIDS and she came to Malawi specifically to work in this field of medicine. The clinic was developed in response to the perceived gap between hospital discharge and an unsupported home environment.
